Archery Ontario is proud to announce a small team of six U21 archers for the Youth & Collegiate Trophy Tournament in Lancaster, PA on January 25th and 25th, 2025. This exciting opportunity will feature Ontario’s top young archers, selected through trials at two Ontario locations. The team will consist of:

  • 2 Compound, 2 Recurve, and 2 Barebow Shooters
  • 1 Male and 1 Female per category

Team Selection Trials
Performance at the trials will determine team selection, with each archer’s scores weighed against previous benchmarks. Details for each trial location are outlined below.

About the Lancaster Event & Team

  • Event Format: qualifying 600 round on single face or vegas style 3-spot (score out of 660; Xs count as 11)
  • Awards: Top 3 shooters in each category
  • Funding: Archery Ontario is projecting to contribute $500 per archer towards thier expenses. Funding is limited and the organization is doing their best to make this team as cost-effective for archers and families by allowing archers to travel and stay with their families in Lancaster but still providing them funding and the opportunity to
    experience higher performance shooting.
  • Travel: Archers will travel independently to Pennsylvania, staying in a team hotel (room block is set up) and attending team breakfast and dinners
  • Additional Opportunity: Option to also compete in the Lancaster Classic (both events are independent of one another, but happen over the same weekend, with the Classic starting a couple of days earlier). The option to shoot the Lancaster Classic is an added bonus for all archers; ability to shoot two possible 660 rounds, and potential to make it to elimination rounds on the Lancaster Classic side.

Important Dates and Team Information:

  • Announcement: Team announced by December 2, 2024
  • Team Rules: If selected to the team, it will be required for all archers to follow the rules of the team including but not limited to:
    • Wearing team uniform
    • Adhering to rules set out by Archery Ontario and the team coach and
      manager
    • Attend all team meetings (virtual and in-person once at the event)
    • Stay in the designated hotel
    • Attend team breakfasts and dinners
    • Being courteous, respectful and attentive to all involved in this event and the
      team
  • First Indoor Team since 2012: Represent Archery Ontario on an international stage in a prestigious indoor event!
  • A team meeting will take place online, once the team has been announced
  • Once all scores for the day have been shot, the VP of Athlete Development will review all scores against the scores from last year’s event, and the top contender from each equipment and sex category will be named to the team.
    • Ex: a U21 compound male archer shoots the highest score of the day, this does not mean they are necessarily guaranteed a spot on the team. If a U18 compound male archer shoots closer to the top score from his category last year, they will be the one named to the team.
