To all coaches
Archery Canada is looking for coaches interested in High Performance Recurve Archery, to participate at the National Team's Winter Training Camp taking place in Gainesville, Florida from February 17th- 23rd. The camp will focus on preparing athletes for the upcoming season, including technical refinement and strategic exposure to:
- Outdoor Conditions
- Tokyo 2020 Heat Protocols Testing (stage 1)
- High Volume Training
- Team Round Protocols and Simulations
- Set Play Simulations.
- Registered 720 rounds
Coaches will be provided with the opportunity to collaborate alongside National Team Athletes and Coaching Staff. Coach development opportunities will include:
- Participation in the training environment including planning and programming
- Introduction to and practical implementation of the Archery Canada Gold Medal Profile.
- Analytics, including Archery Canada dashboards and Artemis Android Software
- Exposure to high performance recurve archery technique.
- Learnings from Heat Protocol Testing with Dr. Jason Vescovi.
How to apply:
Interested coaches should complete the online application form by January 25,2019. The National Team Coach and High Performance Advisor will review the applications and contact those who have been accepted by February 1st or earlier.
Funding:
Archery Canada is committed to the development of high performance coaches across Canada. For this camp, Archery Canada will cover a portion of the on-site expenses for accomodations depending on the number of coaches accepted. Coaches will be responsible for travel and meals. Complete travel logistics will be provided upon selection.
Coach Profile:
This opportunity is best suited for Archery Canada registered coaches who are currently working with athletes towards a high performance focus.All interested coaches are welcome to submit their profile. The ideal candidate would be a coach who is interested in pursuing or learning about High Performance coaching. They may currently be working towards more advanced certifications, such as Comp-Dev, or have intentions to pursue this route of certification in their future. This camp will provide Professional Development Points recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada.
