3D archery focuses on shooting at life-size models of game and is popular with hunters. It is most common to see unmarked distances in 3D archery, as the goal is to accurately recreate a hunting environment for competition.
A double round of 3D consists of 80 targets that are usually placed on a course in a forested area. In most cases each round of 40 targets is shot on separate days. Many of Ontario's great courses use the steep inclines, declines, and valleys of the terrain to make for challenging shots. A single arrow is shot at each target and is scored out of 10. Bonus points are available, making scores over a perfect 800 possible.
