Given the current situation related to the Covid19 Pandemic and to provide information to members, your Archery Ontario board of Directors has been in conversation with partners to plan for the 2020 Outdoor Major Events. While we continue to plan for these events, the situation is evolving and we must be flexible and adapt.
IMPORTANT Notice – the Provincial Events originally scheduled for June and July are being rescheduled for later into the season. The NEW dates for the re-scheduled events are as follows (tentatively):
- Field Championship – August 22nd – 23rd (Lambton-Kent Archers)
- Junior Challenge – August 29th – 30th (Wilderness Archers and AIM) New - Location TBD
- Target Championships – September 12th – 13th (Peterborough Archers) New
- 3D Championships – September 19th – 20th (York County Bowman) New
These dates are subject to change or cancellation, based on provincial recommendations (more information is available in the Framework referenced below – unveiled earlier this week by the Government of Ontario) related to Covid19 Pandemic. The safety and well being of our archery community is our priority. The members of the Board of Directors wish you good health and please be safe. We will provide further updates as information becomes available. Thank you.
A Framework for Reopening our Province lays out the government’s approach to the next chapter in the ongoing fight to defeat COVID-19. It outlines the principles the government will use (…) It also explains the criteria Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health will use to help advise the government on when it is safe to begin loosening public health restrictions. *Please note: Large public gatherings such as concerts and sporting events (referenced in Stage 3, p.10)
